A&E waiting times slump to worst for a decade

Waiting times at A&E departments are at their worst levels for 10 years, figures released today show.
From October to December last year just 92.6% of patients being seen within four hours - below the 95% target set by the government.

The performance of England's A&E departments is at its worst for a decade with waiting times beyond the four-hour target, cancelled operations and patients being turned away.
The Health Secretary has admitted hospitals are struggling to cope but some doctors and nurses have said the system is in crisis.
